Reclaim Energy CO2

The Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System consists of a heat pump (compressor) and a storage tank (stainless steel or glass-lined).

A Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System is made up of a heat pump (compressor) and storage tank (stainless steel or glass-lined). The system uses leading technology to draw energy in from the surrounding air and transfer it into heat, via an ozone friendly pressurised refrigerant (CO2).

The has an average COP of 5, meaning for every 1 kW of electric input, it generates about 5 kW thermal output. This is about 80% less energy when compared to traditional electric element hot water systems. The CO2 Heat Pump has excellent cold weather performance characteristics, negating the need for a boosting element to supplement heating for the unit.

Benefits:

Are you using solar power? If so, you can reduce the cost of power by more than 80% with solar power systems, which is on top of the 80% reduction in energy the Reclaim system uses to make hot water! This means more solar power for your air conditioner and other appliances, to make them even cheaper to operate. That’s why heat pump water heaters and solar power go together so well!

How the reclaim energy CO2 heat pump hot water
system works

The Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump Hot Water System consists of a heat pump (compressor) and a storage tank (stainless steel or glass-lined). Heat is collected from the surrounding air through the system’s heat exchange and used as energy to heat up an ozone-friendly CO2 pressurised refrigerant. The unit can supply over five units of heat energy from ambient air for each unit of electricity it consumes. This minimises the cost of energy used to produce hot water. The CO2 Heat Pump has excellent cold weather performance characteristics, negating the need for a boosting element to supplement heating for the unit.

  1. Uses heat energy in air
Ambient temperature air contains plenty of heat energy
  2. Heat pump concentrates heat energy
Reclaim compressor concentrates heat energy from air using natural CO2 refrigerant
  3. Cylinder heated by heat pump
Heat energy is transferred from CO2 refrigerant to cold water by heat exchanger in compressor
  4. Hot water fills cylinder from top down
In a single pass through the compressor hot water at 63°C is returned to the top of the cylinder
  5. Heat pump turned off when full cylinder is hot
Reclaim controller turns heat pump compressor off once sensor in cylinder reaches 60°C

The reclaim energy CO2 heat pump hot water system is the
perfect hot water solution

Here’s why…

* Estimates based on results of field trials carried out in Australia across 2018. Energy usage per household will vary based on individual requirements and location.

** Reclaim Energy Stainless Steel Tanks come with a 15-year warranty.

80% more power for your home when using a heat pump

A 315 litre electric hot water tank was replaced by a Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump.

Solar Analytics was already in place so that real data was available for usage before and after the Reclaim Energy CO2 Heat Pump installation.

Daily power consumption was reduced by over 80%:

Before Heat Pump installation: 14-20kWh/day
After Heat Pump installation: 2-4kWh/day

Power consumption pattern shown below

Sanden Eco Plus

The Sanden Eco® Plus Hot Water Heat Pump System is an energy-efficient hot water system. Sanden use industry-leading technology found in refrigeration and air conditioning. Sanden heat pumps absorb heat from the surrounding atmosphere and convert it into hot water. An Ozone friendly refrigerant R744 (CO2) absorbs the heat, which then flows into a compressor where it’s converted into a high-temperature gas.

The Sanden Eco Plus will reduce your energy consumption and save you money, making the perfect replacement for your traditional electric hot water system.

Benefits:

Evo-Heat Hot Water Pump

The Evo-Heat hot water pump lets you control your hot water, no matter what the weather’s like, day or night, rain hail or shine. With Evo-heat you can control your water’s temperature with greater efficiency compared to most conventional solar water heaters, without relying on sunlight.

Conventional water heaters can account for up to 35% of your total household energy bill. Evo-Heat lets you save up to 75% on your hot water costs. Our hot water pump works under air conditions of  -7°C to 43°C, and provides water temperatures up to 60°C.

Benefits:

Stiebel Eltron

The Stiebel Eltron range of hot water heat pumps is great looking and has many new innovations and a sophisticated design. These hot water heat pumps reduce energy costs while creating environmentally friendly hot water in all weather conditions.

Stiebel’s air sourced hot water heat pumps harvest natural energy from the air to efficiently create hot water. This solution works year round, and in lower temperatures. Unlike solar systems, Stiebel’s heat pumps don’t rely on sunlight in order to operate, and thus work day and night.

Hot water energy usage in Australian families can be reduced by up to 70% with a Stiebel heat pump, compared to conventional hot water electric systems. Stiebel’s product harvests natural energy to reduce your electricity consumption, lowering your hot water bills and helping to save the environment.
